Organic white willow bark is a traditional herbal ingredient widely used in herbal teas and decoctions. Our organic white willow bark loose herb is carefully dried and cut, making it ideal for preparing white willow bark tea at home.
White willow bark naturally contains salicin, a plant compound historically valued in traditional European herbal medicine. Herbalists have long used white willow bark preparations as part of traditional approaches supporting occasional muscle discomfort, headaches, and the body’s natural inflammatory response.
If you are looking to buy white willow bark in the UK, this high-quality organic loose herb is suitable for herbal teas, decoctions, and traditional herbal preparations.

White willow bark is traditionally prepared as a decoction, which extracts the active compounds from the bark.
Add 1 teaspoon of dried white willow bark to 250ml water.
Bring to a gentle simmer in a saucepan.
Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Strain and drink as a bitter herbal tea.
Alternatively, you can just put it into a cup or pot and add hot water. Allow it to steep for ten minutes.
You may also like my Joint Care Tea which is a combination of White Willow Bark, Meadowsweet and Yarrow. All three of these herbs have a long history of use supporting musculo-skeletal health and calming inflammation in the muscles and joints.
White willow bark has a distinctly bitter, earthy flavour, typical of traditional medicinal barks.

White willow bark naturally contains salicylates and should not be used by individuals sensitive to aspirin or other salicylate-containing medicines.
Because salicylates may have blood-thinning effects, white willow bark should not be taken alongside anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, such as Warfarin, Apixaban, Rivaroxaban, Dabigatran, Aspirin, or Clopidogrel, unless advised by a qualified healthcare professional.
White willow bark should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding and is not recommended for children. If you have a medical condition or are taking medication, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before use.
Herbal products may not be suitable for everyone. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or are taking medication, please consult a qualified healthcare professional before using herbal products.
Some herbs may interact with medications or may not be appropriate for certain health conditions. Always follow preparation guidance and discontinue use if any adverse reaction occurs.
While every effort is made to prevent contamination, our herbs are handled and packed in an environment that processes a wide variety of dried herbs, roots, flowers, and botanicals. Because of this, trace cross-contamination may occasionally occur.
If you have known plant allergies or sensitivities, please exercise caution and seek professional advice before use.
