Low Cost Student Herbal Medicine Training Clinic

What is the Student Clinic?

In addition to my private practice, I run a student training clinic for herbal medicine students in their final or penultimate year of a professional herbal medicine degree.

Studying to become a professional herbalist takes four to six years of degree-level study, often with a foundation year for students who don’t have science A-levels. During the final two years of their degree, students complete 500 hours of supervised clinical training before qualifying.

At the clinic, students work under my direct supervision and follow a strict code of ethics and confidentiality.

This clinic offers a valuable opportunity for the community to access high-quality herbal care at a reduced cost, while also helping to train the next generation of professional herbalists.

Why I Run a Student Clinic

I believe that herbal medicine should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford private healthcare.

Running a student clinic allows me to:

  • Support students on their path to becoming qualified herbalists.
  • Create an inspiring learning environment full of shared passion for natural health.
  • Stay current and continually deepen my own knowledge — students bring fresh perspectives and up-to-date understanding, and teaching them between consultations means I regularly study and keep myself informed about the latest herbal research.

What to Expect During a Consultation

Consultations are either led by me or by a student under my supervision. Every session is carried out with care, depth, and professionalism.

We’ll take a detailed medical and dietary history to build a complete picture of your current and past health, diet, and lifestyle.

Typically, one or two students will be present in person during your consultation, with a maximum of four. For online consultations, up to six students may attend, though usually it’s two to four.

After the consultation, the student and I will discuss your case together and agree on the most suitable herbal prescription.

  • In-person appointments: Your bespoke herbal medicine will be prepared on-site for you to take home the same day.
  • Online appointments: Your bespoke herbal medicine will be made after your session and can be collected from the Enfield clinic or posted to you (£5 postage).

When the Clinic Runs

The student clinic runs once a week on a weekday from 10am to 6pm and once a fortnight in the evening from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
